About Us

Northstar Filmfare International Film Festival (NFIFF) is an annual event held in India, showcasing the talents of filmmakers from around the world. Located in prominent Indian cities. NFIFF offers a platform for emerging established directors and writers to present their unique cinematic perspectives. With a focus on international submissions, public screenings and fostering creativity. NFIFF contributes to the enrichment of film culture and the global filmmaking community.

Rules & Submission Guidelines:

  1. Acknowledgment: Please carefully read and accept these Rules & Terms before submitting your project to the Northstar Filmfare International Film Festival (NFIFF). Your submission implies your agreement to abide by them.
  2. Multiple Entries: You may submit more than one entry, but each entry must have its own online submission and entry fee.
  3. Category Selection: Ensure you choose the correct category when submitting to avoid disqualification.
  4. Non-Refundable Fee: The submission fee is non-refundable.
  5. Subtitles Requirement: Films in languages other than English must include clear and legible English subtitles, as there’s a possibility of screening during the Annual Public Event in Kolkata.

Selection Process:

  1. Underage Filmmakers: If you are under 18 years old, a legal guardian must submit your project on your behalf.
  2. Decision Finality: The decisions of the selection committees and juries are final.
  3. Removal Authority: The Jury reserves the right to disqualify a project from the competition at any point.

Usage and Recognition:

  1. Selection Not a Guarantee: Submitting your film to NFIFF does not guarantee its selection for the festival. However, all official selections, nominees, and winners will be permanently listed on our website. Winning projects will receive a trophy, certificate, and an exclusive interview published in a prominent media outlet.
  2. Promotional Usage: NFIFF may use images, sounds, and excerpts from the films for promotional purposes across various media platforms, including the NFIFF website. Accepted films may also be screened at the 2023 NFIFF.
  3. Official Selection Status: Being an Official Selection does not guarantee that your project will be screened at the festival. It signifies that you can use the festival logo for promotional purposes and that our panel has approved your project.

Unacceptable Content:

NFIFF does not accept:

  1. Projects Involving Politics or films promoting a political agenda
  2. Amateur Videos
  3. Pornography
  4. Extremist or Propaganda Content from religious or political organizations
  5. Films with Poor Production Standards, such as bad sound, lack of subtitles for non-English films, or poor resolution.
